Crusaders Conclude Ram Masters Invitational
Zach Cutler posted the Crusaders' top score in the final round Tuesday.

The Valparaiso University men’s golf team wrapped up the final round of the Ram Masters Invitational from Fort Collins, Colo. on Tuesday, finishing in ninth place after shooting a 294 over the final 18 holes, their lowest round score during the 54-hole tournament.

Colorado State won the Ram Masters Invitational and was the only team to shoot below par, finishing with a total of 839 (-1). The Crusaders finished with a 54-hole score of 891, just one shot out of eighth place.

Sophomore Zach Cutler (O’Fallon, Mo./Timberland) led the Crusaders through the final round on Tuesday, shooting a 72 (+2). One shot behind was Jared Magoline (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac [Marquette]), who closed out with a 73 (+3) on Tuesday.

Continuing the one stroke behind a teammate pattern was junior Nick Seitz (Xenia, Oh./Carrol) as he shot a 74 (+4). Junior Peter Webb (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) shot a 75 (+5), and rounding out the team was freshman Mitchell Wittmann (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) with a 76 (+6).

Magoline led the Crusaders individually throughout all three rounds, shooting a 54-hole score of 217 (+7) to tie for 14th place. Webb was the second-placed Crusaders, finishing in a tie for 46th at 224.

Valparaiso will be back in action October 5th and 6th in Akron, Ohio for the Firestone Invitational.
