In his fourth year with the Crusader program, Brendan Roth will serve as a volunteer assistant coach in 2015. Roth has also been director of soccer operations and reserve team head coach during his time as a member of the Valpo coaching staff..
As a member of the Crusaders from 2007-2011, Roth was a near permanent fixture on the field for head coach Mike Avery, appearing in 66 matches and starting 42 times. In 2011, he helped lead the Crusaders to their first Horizon League championship. Roth graduated from Valparaiso with a degree in Sports Management.
Currently, Roth is working on his Master’s in Sports Administration at Valparaiso. He resides in Valpo with his wife, Laura.
2011: Appeared in all 20 of the Crusaders' matches during his senior season ... earned 14 starting assignments ... picked up an assist in win over IPFW Oct. 18 ... totaled 21 shot attempts on the year, nine of which were on frame.
2010: Played in 17 matches for the Crusaders as a junior ... earned a spot in the starting XI 13 times ... fired 20 shots off over the course of the season, including a season-high four efforts Sept. 24 against Milwaukee ... also had three other games where he attempted multiple shots ... placed six of his shot attempts on goal ... spent summer of 2011 playing for Carolina Railhawks U23 squad which won USASA U23 National Cup Championship, as well as USASA Region III U23 Men’s Cup.
2009: Appeared in all 19 fixtures for Valpo, starting on 13 occasions ... finished season third on team with four goals and ten points ... earned first career point Sept. 6 with an assist on a Crusader marker against #22/23 Michigan ... tallied three points at Western Michigan Sept. 16 ... opened Valpo’s scoring against the Broncos with his first career goal, coming in the 22nd minute, before assisting on golden goal for the overtime victory ... scored a golden goal of his own Oct. 17 against a Green Bay squad that entered atop the Horizon League table ... decisive tally against the Phoenix came on a counter opportunity in the 98th minute ... stood out in league tournament quarterfinal win over Milwaukee Nov. 10, coming up with first career multi-goal effort ... scored eventual match-winner in the 7th minute and added an insurance tally in the 78th minute ... totaled 25 shots on the season, ten of which ended up on frame ... played this past summer with the Cary Railhawks U23 squad.
2008: Saw action in ten matches in the midfield for the Crusaders in his first season on the pitch ... earned starts Sept. 14 at Evansville and Oct. 19 against IPFW ... recorded shot attempts Sept. 12 vs. Bradley and Oct. 3 at Butler ... earned Horizon League Academic Honor Roll notice for both fall and spring semesters.
2007: Sat out season as redshirt.
Prep: A four-year letterwinner for the Chargers ... earned All-Conference honors all four seasons ... named team's Most Valuable Player in 2004 and 2006 ... earned Golden Boot award in 2006 ... Chargers' leading point scorer as a junior ... a two-year captain ... a member of National Honor Society.
