Valparaiso fell 82-38 on Friday evening in a dual meet against Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Adam Jajtner (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington H.S.) finished runner-up for the Brown and Gold in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:21.50, the Crusaders top finish on the evening.
Ansel Hillmer (Tampa, Fla./Hillsborough H.S.) also turned in the second fastest time of the meet in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 55.27 seconds.
Blake Edwards (Orange, Calif./Lutheran H.S. of Orange County) was third in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.04 while Hillmer was third in the 200 fly. David Sivak (Hobart, Ind./Hobart H.S.) also finished third in the 50 freestyle in 22.83 seconds while Jajtner had the third fastest time in the 500 free, 4:59.07.
“We had lots of good races where we did the little things right,” head coach Bryan Morrison said. “We now just need to put all the pieces together.”
Valparaiso (0-2) will return to the pool on Saturday afternoon in Carmel, Ind. when the Crusaders face Saint Louis and Evansville. The first race is slated to begin at 1 p.m. CDT.
