The Valparaiso University swimming program released its schedule for the 2019-2020 season on Tuesday, featuring five home competitions.
Homecoming weekend will feature Valpo’s annual Alumni/Brown and Gold Meet, set to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Valpo will then begin its season under new head coach Maggie Kroemer on Oct. 5 at Eastern Illinois. The team will travel to Southern Illinois for a meet on Oct. 12 with Bellarmine. The following week, the team travels to West Lafayette for the Indiana Intercollegiates (Oct. 19).
Valpo will then host its first home meet of the season at the ARC against Evansville (Oct. 25) before traveling to Youngstown State (Nov. 2). Valpo continues the fall semester as it hosts Saginaw Valley State (Nov. 16) before traveling to the Phoenix Fall Classic (Nov. 22-24).
The spring semester will begin with a home meet vs. Western Illinois (Jan. 11) at the ARC. Six days later, the team travels to Rose-Hulman before battling Eastern Illinois (Jan.18) for the second time this season. The Jan. 18 meet against the Panthers will be Senior Day for the Valpo swimming program.
The team will then hit the road for two straight away meets. First, Valpo will visit Bethel (Jan. 24) and then head to Indianapolis for the Butler Invitational (Jan. 26).
Finally, the women will host one last meet vs. Indiana State (Feb. 1) before traveling to Columbia, Mo. for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships (Feb. 19-22). The men will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. for the Summit League Championships (Feb.19-22) to conclude their season.
