Valparaiso University’s Student-Athlete Allies group will host a Zoom panel on “Amplifying People of Color” on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. CT to discuss the experiences of people of color throughout their time on campus. The purpose of this event is to spread awareness of the injustices that occur and ultimately work to find ways we can uplift and amplify people of color in our community.

The group of panelists will consist of staff, student-athletes and coaches — all with diverse backgrounds within the Valpo community — sharing their thoughts and procedures on how they work towards creating an inclusive environment within Valpo Athletics. The panelists will speak on behalf of their knowledge of diversity and inclusion, and how it has exposed them to what they have experienced during their time at Valpo.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend the event. The event will be held via Zoom at the link below. The panel asks that viewers keep their microphones muted throughout the event — questions can be submitted via the chat box.
