The athletic training room, located in the Athletics-Recreation Center, is available to all student-athletes to help treat injuries, go through rehabilitation, as well as prevention of mishaps throughout their careers with Valparaiso University.
With a staff of four full-time athletic trainers that are fully certified, as well as three graduate assistants, and several student aids, the training room opens daily at 7:30 a.m. and remains available throughout most of the day and into early evening.
The room contains the latest in treatment and rehab modalities, including a new infrared system designed to treat tendon injuries. The staff works closely with the doctors and rehabilitation personnel at Lakeshore Bone and Joint Institute, Porter Memorial Hospital, and the Valparaiso University Health Center.
In addition, the sports medicine staff has a smaller training room facility located at Eastgate Field in the baseball clubhouse. This facility is used for the soccer programs as well as baseball.
