Valpo volleyball head coach Carin Avery announced today that Mia Liberti (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle Institute) has signed with the Beacons and will join the program as a freshman in the fall of 2024.

“Mia is another great addition to our 2024 recruiting class,” Avery said. “Her serve will bring us an additional weapon in our service game, while her serve receive game will help us tremendously as well. She is one of those players who has a great feel and touch for the volleyball.”

A 5’6” defensive specialist/libero from De La Salle Institute, Liberti plays her club volleyball for Chicago Elite, helping her team finish as national runners-up at the 2023 AAU National Championships. She also helped her team take third place at the 2023 JVA MLK Jamboree and win the 2022 Molten Pre-Qualifier. Liberti is a two-time AAU Academic All-American and has been named to the GCAC Academic All-Conference Team.

Liberti’s addition gives Valpo six incoming freshmen for the 2024 campaign, as she joins Kadence Brumitt, Drew Glaser, Jordyn Gove, Ava Helming and Lilly Merk.
