The Valparaiso University cross country team has unveiled its schedule for the 2018 season.
For the 25th consecutive year, the season will begin with the Crusader Open at Sunset Hills Farm, an annual staple which will take place on Friday, Aug. 31. This will mark the 30th running of the Crusader Open. The women's 5K will begin at 5 p.m. CT and the men’s 6K is slated to get underway at 5:45.
Two weeks later, the Crusaders will return to action as they participate in the Bradley Intercollegiate on Friday, Sept. 14. That marks the first of three trips the Crusaders will make to Peoria this season.
The Greater Louisville Classic, which will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29, marks a new addition to Valpo’s schedule. That event will be followed by a return to Newman Golf Course, where Valpo will participate in the Bradley Pink Classic for the sixth consecutive season on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The Crusaders will make their third trip to Peoria on Oct. 27 as Bradley hosts this year’s Missouri Valley Conference Championships at Newman Golf Course. The season will conclude on Nov. 9 as Valpo partakes in the Great Lakes Regional, which will be held in Terre Haute, Ind. for the second consecutive season.
