J.J. Del Castillo is in his second season as a member of the Valparaiso men's soccer staff, serving as director of soccer operations this year after spending 2011 as a graduate assistant.  He returned to Valparaiso after most recently playing professionally at Atlante F.C. in his native Mexico.

Player Bio:

2009: Played in nine matches in the midfield during his senior season ... started in Horizon League victory over Cleveland State Nov. 7.

2008: Appeared in each of Valpo’s first 18 contests as a junior … took the field as part of the starting 11 on eight occasions in the midfield … tallied first point as a Crusader with an assist at Evansville Sept. 14 … attempted 15 shots on the season, including a season-high four against Wright State Sept. 28.

2007: Made 12 appearances off of the bench for Valparaiso in the midfield during his first season in a Crusader uniform ... attempted five shots on the year, two of which were on frame.

Gardner-Webb: Played for the Runnin' Bulldogs in 2006 ... team won the Atlantic Sun Tournament.

Prep: A one-year letterwinner for the Maples ... led the team in goals with 14 while also dishing out nine assists ... named to the All-Area team ... named team's Best Midfield Player ... also played for the Fuerzas Basicas of Pachuca F.C. and Pumas F.C.
