Valparaiso University's Aaron Crague (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Week the league announced today.
Crague's performance at the Stanford Invitational earned him a spot in the NCAA Regional Championships in the 5000m run after setting a new school record with a time of 14:16.10. The fifth-year senior's mark was eight seconds faster than his previous record-setting performance from two season's ago.
Crague finished second in his heat and currently ranks sixth in the nation in the event thus far this season. His time is currently tops in the Mideast Region.
