Meredith Hamlet (McBain, Mich./McBain) was elected to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. Hamlet averaged 10.4 points per game and led the Crusaders in scoring on six occasions. She quickly established herself as a valuable three-point threat, knocking down a team-most 63 treys during the regular season. Her unforgettable 29-point performance at Northern Kentucky on Dec. 30th single-handedly led Valpo to its first win in a Horizon League road opener.

Hamlet capped off the regular season by averaging 15.0 points per game over her final three tilts. She shot 11-for-25 (.440) from beyond the arc during that span, boosting her season mark to .373, the ninth-highest figure in the HL.

Hamlet and the Crusaders will open postseason play Thursday in the opening game of the Horizon League Championship. Tipoff from Kress Events Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin is scheduled for 12:00 pm CT.
