The Valpo women's basketball team has been picked to finish in 10th place in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2023-24, according to preseason polling of the Valley's head coaches, sports information directors and media members.

Valpo tallied 162 points in the polling, outpacing Evansville and Bradley while coming in just behind Indiana State. UNI received 33 of 48 first-place votes and topped the poll.

Three of Valpo’s top four scorers from last season return in 2023-24, as the Beacons return the majority of their production from last year’s squad. In all, Valpo returns 64.7% of its minutes played, 66.4% of its scoring and 72.1% of its rebounding from the 2022-23 team in its eight returnees.

Valpo opens the regular season Sunday, Nov. 12 at Eastern Illinois, while the Beacons kick off the home slate Saturday, Nov. 18 versus Western Illinois.
