Lisa (Winter) Finn Selected for Induction to Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame

Valpo women’s basketball alum Lisa (Winter) Finn will be inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 22nd Women’s Induction Class next April, the Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

Finn was a prep standout at Huntington North H.S., closing her high school career by being named Indiana Miss Basketball. She was a two-time AP All-State honoree and led the Vikings to the state title as a junior in 1995, where she was selected as Final Four MVP.

After starting her collegiate career at Ball State, Finn transferred to Valpo prior to the 1998-99 season — becoming the first and only Indiana Miss Basketball to suit up in the Brown and Gold. She averaged 8.6 points and 4.5 assists per game over her two seasons in the Valpo uniform, leading the team in assists and steals in both her seasons. Finn dished out 143 assists as a senior, a mark which led the Mid-Con and ranks seventh in a single season in program history, and closed her career with 264 assists, 13th-most in program history.

Finn was previously honored by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of its 2021 Silver Anniversary Team. Once inducted into the Hall of Fame, Finn will be the second Valpo women’s basketball alum enshrined, joining Debbie Bolen, who was inducted in 2016.

Finn will be officially inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the 22nd Women’s Awards Banquet in Indianapolis.
