Six Soccer Players Earn Academic All-District Recognition

The Valpo soccer program had six players recognized as Academic All-District honorees as College Sports Communicators released its women’s soccer Academic All-District roll on Tuesday.

It was a veteran group of Beacons who were honored, as all six are in their respective fourth or fifth years of collegiate soccer. Two fifth-year Valpo players were recognized: Allie Anderson (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South [Xavier]), who owns a perfect 4.00 GPA as an exercise science major, and Nicole Norfolk (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels), who owns a 3.971 GPA as a biology and chemistry double major.

Four seniors were honored as well: Nikki Coryell (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley), who owns a 3.975 GPA as an accounting and sports management double major; Cassidy Eckstein (Carmel, Ind./Carmel), who carries a 3.874 GPA as a biology and chemistry double major; Aubrey Ramey (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School [DePaul]), who boasts a 3.800 GPA as a communication major; and Chase Ray (Bellevue, Ohio/Bellevue), who has a 3.859 GPA as a biology and chemistry double major. 

College Sports Communicators will release its Academic All-America teams next month.
