Valparaiso University tennis senior Olivia Czerwonka (Kenosha, Wis. / Saint Joseph Catholic Academy) has earned a spot in the ITA Midwest Regional singles main draw as the draws were released for this week’s event on Wednesday.
The Regional, which is being hosted by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, will begin on Thursday with qualifying singles first-round action beginning at 7 a.m. CT. The qualifying singles second round will also be played on Thursday. Friday’s slate will feature the doubles main draw first and second rounds followed by the singles main draw first round.
Moira Silva (Houston, Texas / Houston Tennis Academy), Amanda Tabanera (Valencia, Calif. / Valencia) and Mia Bertino (Lockport, Ill. / Joliet Catholic) have all been selected for the singles qualifying draw, which will begin on Thursday. Silva, who recently won the Missouri Valley Conference Flight 2 Singles championship, will play Hannah Neuman of Bowling Green in the opening round. Tabanera is matched up with Notre Dame’s Akari Matsuno, while Bertino is pitted against Kaitlyn Rogosch of Western Michigan.
There will be two rounds of qualifying singles with 16 qualifiers advancing to the main draw. Czerwonka has earned an automatic berth into Friday’s single main draw.
