Valparaiso sophomore Jessica Richardson (Columbus, Ind./North) earned her first Horizon League Female Runner of the Week honors for her performance on Saturday at the Mike Lints Alumni Open held at Grand Valley State.

Richardson finished third in the 5000-meter run, crossing the line with a time of 17:51.17, more than 12 seconds ahead of the fourth-place finisher.

The Crusaders track teams return to action on Saturday at the IPFW Quadrangular in Fort Wayne, Ind.
