The Valparaiso University Department of Athletics has announced plans to celebrate its proud past during an All-Sports Reunion, which will take place the weekend of Feb. 9-10, 2024. Former Valpo student-athletes are invited to return to campus for this event, part of the department’s efforts to increase alumni engagement and connect the past with the present.

“It is important for our current student-athletes to understand the history of Valpo Athletics and recognize that they are part of a large Valpo Family,” Director of Athletics Dr. Charles Small said. “It’s also important for us to stay engaged with our former student-athletes. The All-Sports Reunion will help us connect our current student-athletes with our former student-athletes, and create networking opportunities that help prepare our current student-athletes for their life after Valpo.”

Events during the course of the weekend include a home women’s basketball game, a home men’s basketball game, the Valpo Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet, a Letter Jacket Ceremony and an all-sports social event.

The women’s basketball team will clash with instate Missouri Valley Conference foe Indiana State on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. to tip off a busy weekend of festivities. The Hall of Fame Banquet is slated for Saturday, Feb. 10 with a tentative start time of 11:30 a.m., followed by Valpo’s inaugural Letter Jacket Ceremony, which is tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. Student-athletes who have earned a letter jacket will be presented the jacket by members of the Valpo Athletics Hall of Fame.

The men’s basketball team will welcome MVC foe Belmont on Saturday, Feb. 10 as part of the All-Sports Reunion Weekend. The start time for this game will be confirmed two weeks prior to the contest when the MVC announces television designations for that day. An all-sports social event will take place at a local restaurant following the basketball game.

This year’s Valpo Athletics Hall of Fame class will be announced soon.
