2011: Played in 16 matches for the Crusaders as a junior, starting on five occasions ... tallied first career assist in Horizon League win over Detroit Sept. 30 ... scored lone goal in 1-0 league victory at Wright State Oct. 7 ... totaled 11 shots on the season, including four on goal ... posted a season-best three shot attempts against Wright State.

2010: Appeared in five matches during his sophomore campaign ... earned first career starting nod Nov. 3 against Eastern Illinois ... registered lone shot attempt of season against the Panthers as well.

2009: Saw action up front in 16 matches off of the bench during rookie season as a Crusader ... got Valpo on the scoreboard with his first career goal in the 41st minute Oct. 17 against league-leading Green Bay ... also put a shot on goal Oct. 6 at Bowling Green ... went to U19 national championship in summer of 2010 with Andromeda SC.

Prep: A four-year letterwinner for the Broncos ... earned First Team All-Area and First Team All-Region 5A honors as a senior while being named team Offensive MVP ... attended the 2009 TASCO Senior Showcase ... a three-year captain, earned All-District accolades in each of his final three seasons ... named region Sophomore of the Year in 2007 ... a member of National Honor Society ... played club soccer for Andromeda SC ... helped lead Andromeda to USYS U17 national championship in 2008 ... named the Golden Boot recipient at the national championship competition ... Andromeda earned 2009 U18-USDA Texas Division championship ... club also earned a spot in the 2009 Dallas Cup XXX Super Group international competition ... also played in 2005 and 2006 in top youth league in Munich, Germany with SV Lohhof.

Personal: Sam is the son of Robin and Deidre Haines ... majors are electrical engineering and German ... born Dec. 18, 1990.
