Valparaiso fans can purchase tickets for the Crusaders' trip to the Ann Arbor Regional of the 2013 NCAA Softball Tournament beginning at 10 a.m. CT Tuesday morning via host Michigan's ticketing website or by calling Michigan's ticket office at 866.296.6849.

Making its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in as many years, the Valparaiso softball team will head to Michigan for the Ann Arbor Regional of the 2013 NCAA Softball Tournament. Valpo will open regional play against the host Wolverines, the eighth seed nationally, at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, live on ESPN3.com.

Fans are invited to join the Valparaiso softball team as it learns its destination for the 2013 NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening. The team will be gathering at Wings Etc. (501 Silhavy Rd, Valparaiso) for a viewing party for the selection show, with the show starting at 9pm CT on ESPNU.

Quite simply, the Valparaiso softball team would not be denied its second straight Horizon League Championship, completing a five-game run of victories with a pair of wins on Saturday over Youngstown State, 2-1 and 11-9, to claim the league title for a second consecutive season. With the tournament crown, the Crusaders will represent the Horizon League in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in as many years.

The Valparaiso softball team continued its run at the 2013 Horizon League Softball Championship in Chicago, Ill. on Friday with a pair of wins, advancing to Championship Saturday after defeating Cleveland State, 4-3 (8 innings), and Wright State, 10-2. The Crusaders will face Youngstown State on Saturday, needing a pair of victories to claim the tournament crown for a second straight year.

The Valparaiso softball team faced elimination for the first time in the 2013 Horizon League Softball Championship in Chicago, Ill. on Thursday evening, but stayed alive with a 3-1 victory over host UIC to remain in the hunt for the league crown. Valpo will return to the field for another elimination game at noon on Friday.

Eight unearned runs proved to be Valparaiso’s undoing in its opener of the 2013 Horizon League Championship on Wednesday afternoon, as the third-seeded Crusaders fell by a final score of 9-1 to sixth-seeded Youngstown State in Chicago, Ill. The Crusaders will play an elimination game Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m.

The Valparaiso softball team makes the trip to the Windy City this week to compete in the 2013 Horizon League Softball Championship, hosted by UIC. The defending tournament champions, the Crusaders earned the third seed for this year’s tournament with an 11-9 record in league play. Valpo will kick off tournament play Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. against sixth-seeded Youngstown State.
