The two-time defending Horizon League champion Valparaiso softball program will host a pair of camp dates this winter. The Crusaders’ hitting/pitching camp will be held Sunday, January 19, while an all-skills camp will be held Sunday, February 23. Both camps are open to youths grades 2-12.
The hitting/pitching camp on January 19 will be split into separate two-hour sessions for hitting and pitching, with campers separated by grades 2-7 and 8-12. The cost is $65 per session, with additional early bird sessions available for grades 8-12 for an extra $40, allowing individualized time for campers to obtain more personal time with the coaching staff. Also, campers will have a chance for video analysis of their swings for an additional $30.
The all-skills camp on February 23 will be separated by grades 2-7 and 8-12 as well and will run three hours per group. The cost of the all-skills camp is $65.
Both camps will feature hitting and pitching instruction from the entire staff of the Valparaiso softball program. Additionally, members of the current team will be present to help with instruction and interact with the campers. Small group instruction will be used in both the hitting and pitching sessions to guarantee campers skill instruction from both staff and team members.
