Tracy Korth Joins Valpo Softball Program

Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Valparaiso University Head Softball Coach Randy Schneider today announced Tracy Korth (Elgin, Ill./Larkin), a transfer from Elgin Community College, will join the Crusader softball team beginning in the 2007 season.

Korth completed her career for the Spartans this spring by being named Skyway Community College Conference Player of the Year. A two-time First Team All-Conference honoree, Korth batted .443 with five home runs and 36 RBI in 2006 and went 12-2 with a 2.25 ERA in the circle. Korth was named to the Region IV All-Region First Team as a sophomore after picking up Second Team honors in her freshman season.

?Tracy will be a great addition to our program," Schneider said. ?She is an outstanding student-athlete with a great sense for the game who will make an immediate impact."

The Crusaders went 22-30 in 2006, including a 9-15 mark in Mid-Continent Conference play.
