Crusaders Among Best in Nation Academically

The 2005 Valparaiso University softball team finished among the top-30 in the nation in team GPA as released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

The Crusaders, led by head coach Randy Schneider, ended the 2004-2005 academic year with a 3.235 cumulative team GPA, ranking 28th in the nation. Valpo was the only Mid-Continent Conference school ranked in the top-60.

The University of Detroit Mercy led the nation with a 3.591 cumulative GPA.
