The Valparaiso University softball program is inviting back all alumni who suited up for the Crusader softball team for its second annual Alumni Game on Saturday, October 10 at 3 p.m., along with numerous other activities planned throughout the day.

“We were truly blessed in the fall of 2008 to have over 30 alums return for a special night,” said Crusader head coach Randy Schneider.  “We hope to surpass those numbers in 2009 and celebrate those players which laid the foundation for our team today."

The day will kick off with a run/walk with Coach Schneider at 8 a.m., followed by a question and answer session over coffee.  The game itself will run from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Valparaiso University Softball Field, and is free to the general public.  The night will be capped at Pass Times with dinner, a silent auction and more from 6-10 p.m.  The cost of the event is $40, and those alums wishing to return should contact Schneider at 219-464-5047 or at Randy.Schneider@valpo.edu.
