Jamie Gutowski Graduate Assistant
|
2006-07 Women's Basketball Coaches |
Jamie Gutowski moves from the hardwood to the sidelines as the 2006-2007 season begins at Valparaiso University. The former Crusader letterwinner serves as the team’s graduate assistant.
As a member of the Brown and Gold’s staff, Gutowski is responsible for film exchange, producing publications for coaches and alumni, and assisting the recruiting coordinator.
A four year letterwinner for Valpo from 2002-2006, Gutowski averaged 7.1 points per game for the Brown and Gold. She helped lead Valpo to a pair of Mid-Continent Conference Tournament titles, and the first two NCAA Tournament berths in the program’s history. In the 2004 Mid-Con quarterfinal, her game-winning basket with just 1.4 seconds remaining helped propel the Crusaders for the rest of the tournament. She was named to the Mid-Con All-Tournament Team that season as well. In addition, Gutowski was a three-time Academic All Mid-Con selection.
Gutowski ranks fourth all-time in Valpo basketball history with 151 three-pointers made. Her .360 shooting percentage from outside the arc also ranks fourth all-time.
A 2006 graduate of Valparaiso with a bachelor’s degree in sports communications, Gutowski is currently working on her master’s degree in sports administration at the university.
