"A member of legendary coach Loren Ellis' "World's Tallest Team," Milt Schoon was a member of the team which defeated George Mikan and the No. 1-ranked DePaul Blue Demons in 1943-1944.

Schoon guarded Mikan and held him to nine points in the win. The 1944-1945 team traveled almost 9,000 miles, visiting both coasts, as well as Puerto Rico. He left the Crusaders after his junior year to play with the Anderson (Ind.) Packers and then for five more years in the NBA and NPBL (National Professional Basketball League). In his final season with the Denver Frontier-Refiners of the NPBL, he scored 64 points in a single game-a record that stood until Elgin Baylor scored 71 in 1960 and Wilt Chamberlain established the current record of 100 in 1962.
