Rain throughout the Chicagoland area on Friday has forced the postponement of Valparaiso’s doubleheader with UIC to Saturday at Les Miller Field in Chicago, Ill.  The two schools will begin game one of the twinbill at 11 a.m.

Nearly half of Valpo’s Horizon League schedule has been altered by rain this season.  Seven of the games have been cancelled due to rain with these two being pushed back a day.  In addition, game one of the series at Youngstown State was rained out and moved back.

Jon Gulbransen (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran H.S.) is slated to throw the opener for the Crusaders against the Flames’ Tim Suminski while Damon McCormick (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier H.S.) will take the mound in game two for Valpo while UIC has yet to determine a starter.
