The Horizon League announced Friday that 58 teams tallied perfect 1000 Academic Progress Rates (APR) in the 2012-2013 academic year. Of the 58 different squads, eleven reside in Valparaiso - tops within the Horizon League.
"This is a testament to the dedication of our student-athletes both in the classroom and on the field of competition. Today is a proud day for all of us in the Valparaiso University community," director of athletics Mark LaBarbera said.
Volleyball, men's tennis, women's basketball, men's golf, women's swimming, women's indoor track and field, women's outdoor track and field, baseball, women's cross country, men's cross country, and women's tennis all recorded perfect 1000 Academic Progress Rates (APR) in the 2012-2013 year.
The APR is a measuring stick that tracks eligibility and student-athlete retention.
