Valparaiso closes the first half of Horizon League play on Saturday afternoon as the Crusaders host nationally-ranked Green Bay. The Phoenix enter the contest as one of two unbeaten teams in the country and are ranked #12/9 in the polls. Green Bay is the highest ranked team to visit the ARC since #8/8 Notre Dame came to Valparaiso in 2008.

Tabitha Gerardot (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury H.S.) and Gina Lange (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake H.S.) combined for 31 points on Thursday evening in a 55-47 setback to Milwaukee at the Athletics-Recreation Center.

Ashley Timmerman (Pontiac, Ill./Pontiac H.S.) tallied a season-high 14 points, making four three-pointers, but Valparaiso was unable to overcome three UIC players in double figures on Saturday night, falling to the Flames 54-43 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Ill.

Valparaiso returns to the Windy City this weekend for a rare prime time Saturday evening contest as the Crusaders face UIC at the Pavilion. Valpo is looking to score its first Horizon League road win of the season facing a Flames’ team that has lost just twice at home all year.

Gina Lange (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake H.S.) scored a career-high 17 points for Valparaiso on Thursday evening at the Gentile Arena, but Loyola (Chicago) went on a 32-5 run late in the second half and defeated the Crusaders 86-56 in Chicago, Ill.

After registering their first Horizon League victory of the season last Saturday afternoon, the Valparaiso Crusaders return to the hardwood on Thursday evening, traveling to the Windy City of Chicago to battle the Ramblers of Loyola (Chicago). The Crusaders will play five of their next seven games away from the Athletics-Recreation Center beginning on Thursday.
