Valparaiso heads to Detroit for the second time in twelve days to open the Horizon League Conference Tournament. The winner will advance to face the defending champion Green Bay Phoenix in Wisconsin Wednesday night.

Sharon Karungi's 90% (9-for-10 FG) shooting percentage was just one of a handful of offensive watermarks met or set in Valpo's 101-80 loss to Wright State Saturday in Dayton. As a team, the Crusaders shot 59.6%, the seventh-highest percentage in program history.

Valparaiso wraps up the regular season slate with a Saturday matinee against the Raiders in Dayton. A win and a Detroit loss Saturday would mean Valpo hosts the Titans Monday night at the ARC. For the Crusaders to hold up their end of the bargain, they'll have to win inside the Nutter Center for the first time since January 27th, 1994.

Charae Richardson dropped in a career-high 24 points in what was potentially her final game at the ARC Wednesday night in Valpo's 94-80 shootout win over Milwaukee. Karungi added 23 of her own on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor.

Valparaiso plays its final home game of the season Wednesday evening when the Milwaukee Panthers come to town for a 7:05 pm tip. The Crusaders are currently a game back of Detroit and two behind Milwaukee in the standings. Paul Oren and Renee Turpa will have the call on WVUR 95.1 FM.

Valpo held a lead against the Phoenix as late as the 3:00 mark of the second half, but Green Bay closed with six of the game's final eight points in a nailbiter at the Athletics-Recreation Center. Sharon Karungi tallied her third straight double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Valparaiso will open the month of March with Green Bay in a 7:05 pm tipoff on Saturday. Elizabeth Hamlet, Charae Richardson, and Liz Horton will each be recognized before the game in a special Senior Day ceremony.

Valpo extended its first-half lead to as many as 17 points before the Titans stormed back to tie the game with a minute and a half to play. Tayelor McCalister's jumper with four seconds remaining was the game-winner for Detroit in an 81-79 contest. Jessica Carr set a career high in points (21) for the second straight game.
