Valpo Wraps Up Wisconsin Trip Saturday at Milwaukee
Lexi Miller averaged 16.0 points per game versus Milwaukee last season. The Crusaders and Panthers square off Saturday inside the Klotsche Center at 2 pm. (Ian Olive)

Valparaiso (6-10, 2-3 Horizon)
at Milwaukee (8-7, 2-2 Horizon)

Game #17 - Saturday, January 16 - 2 p.m. CT
Klotsche Center (3,500) - Milwaukee, Wis.

Next Up in Crusader Basketball: Valpo and Milwaukee meet Saturday for the fourth time in 360 days. The Panthers are riding high following a 54-53 victory over UIC Thursday night at the Klotsche Center. Milwaukee touts the second-best defense in Horizon League play, limiting opponents to just 57.8 points per game.

Last Time Out: Imani Scott-Thompson caught fire from beyond the arc Thursday night, but a tenacious Green Bay defense sent Valpo’s upset bid up in smoke at the Kress Events Center. The junior finished with 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-8 3FG) to amend her season highs in points, field goals made, and three-pointers. Turnovers, however, proved costly as the Crusaders committed 23 miscues - their most since Dec. 19th - in a 81-42 loss to the defending-champion Phoenix. Green Bay, who was led by Mehryn Kraker and Kaili Lukan, extended its winning streak to 11 games in the process.

Head Coach Tracey Dorow: Tracey Dorow (29-78) is in her fourth season at the helm of the Valparaiso women’s basketball program in 2015-16. She collected her 250th career victory on November 14th, 2014 after a 91-57 defeat of Butler. In her first season, Dorow led the Crusaders to eleven victories overall, including five in Horizon League play. Dorow arrived in Valparaiso after 14 seasons at Ferris State. She compiled a 232-163 record while with the Bulldogs. Furthermore, Ferris State posted the #1 grade point average in all of Division II for the 1999-2000 women’s basketball season as well as the #2 ranking in 2002-03.

Series Notes: Milwaukee leads the all-time series, 18-9, in a matchup that began nearly 33 years ago. The Crusaders and Panthers have met in the postseason two straight seasons and four times in the previous six years. UWM has won three straight over the Brown and Gold at the Klotsche Center.
