The Valparaiso women’s soccer team will look to defend its Horizon League championship in 2015 with the help of seven new additions, as Crusader head coach John Marovich announced Wednesday the program had inked seven players to National Letters of Intent.
Valparaiso placed a league-high 10 student-athletes over five sports on the Horizon League's 2014 Fall Academic All-League Teams, as announced today by the league office.
Rita Craven adds to her impressive tally of awards, as she was named an NSCAA First Team Scholar All-American - one of just 12 named to the team and the first in program history. Jenny Fassbinder earned Third Team Scholar All-American honors as well, while Kelsey Draper was a Third Team Scholar All-Region recipient.
Valparaiso women’s soccer junior midfielder Rita Craven found herself in some lofty company on Friday, as she was named an NSCAA Third Team All-American - one of just 37 players in the nation to earn All-American honors. Craven is the first Crusader in program history to earn All-American accolades, and is one of just three players all-time from current Horizon League programs to receive the nation’s top honor.
