Matt LaBarbera returned to Valparaiso University in December of 2012. He is responsible for all fundraising efforts related to the Crusader Fund, the annual giving fund that supports operating budgets and student-athlete scholarships for Valpo’s intercollegiate athletics and recreational sports programs.

Previously Matt worked for Neulion, Inc. one of the largest providers of technology services to college athletic departments. Matt worked with Neulion’s Ticketing, Donor Management and Email Marketing solutions, helping support existing Neulion partner schools and converting new partner schools. Matt led donor management conversions for Idaho, Texas State, Southern Utah and Oral Roberts (among others), and worked with ticketing and donor operations at dozens of Neulion’s existing partners.

Prior to this Matt filled in briefly as the Operations Manager of the Harre Union in the winter of 2010-11 and worked for a year at the Wolfpack Club, the athletics fundraising organization for North Carolina State University.

Matt earned his M.B.A from Valparaiso University in 2009 and graduated from Valpo with a B.A. in Political Science in 2008. At various times as a student Matt was a manager for the men’s basketball team, a Research Associate at the Community Research and Service Center, Assistant Editor of The Cresset and a Marketing Assistant with the athletic department.

Matt and his wife Beth (also a 2008 Valpo graduate) live in Valparaiso with their daughter Mary.
