Valparaiso junior Natalie Cortese (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates [Central Missouri]) has been named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Third Team for her work on the lanes and in the classroom during the 2010-2011 school year. In addition, five other Crusaders were named All-Academic honorees by the NTCA.

Valparaiso bowling head coach Shon Washington announced today that Sadie Jasinski has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Crusader bowling program as a freshman for the 2011-2012 campaign.

Last year, the Valparaiso bowling program went on a run that few thought possible for a program in its first season of competition, ending the season ranked #10 in the country. With seven of their top eight bowlers back for the 2010-2011 campaign, the expectations have been raised for the Crusaders this season and the goal is simple: be one of the eight teams invited to the 2011 NCAA Bowling Championships.

In addition, Cortese was joined by Ashley Busiel (Elk Grove Village, Ill./James B. Conant [Harper College]) and Gretchen VanHeeren (Bryon, Ill./Bryon) as All-Academic Honorees.
