Women’s Golf Improves Team Score on Day 2 of MVC Championship
Madison Keil had the team's second-best score on Monday.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team bettered its team score on the second day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, hosted at the par-72, 6176-yard Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill. Anna Fay (Goshen, Ind. / Concord) once again achieved the team’s top score.  

How It Happened

  • Fay posted an 82 on Monday to complete the second round with a 36-hole total of 159. She is tied for 12th in the 58-player field.
  • The Beacons bettered their team score by six strokes as they posted a 336 on Monday to complete the day at 678. They are one stroke behind UIC for 11th on the team leaderboard.
  • The second-best Beacon showing came courtesy of Madison Keil (LaGrange, Ind. / Lakeland)¸ whose 83 helped her finish the round with a tournament total of 168 (t-36).
  • Taylor Skibinski (Michigan City, Ind. / Michigan City) improved by one stroke, while Kelsey Eicheneaur (North Manchester, Ind. / Manchester) made a seven-stroke improvement and Emily Krzyzanowski (Scottsbluff, Neb. / Gering) was 10 strokes better on Monday than she was on Sunday.
  • Missouri State sits atop the team leaderboard at 630 (+54), while Murray State’s Payton Carter is the leader in the race for medalist honors at 151 (+7).

Inside the Round

  • Fay is thriving on par-4 holes with a 4.25 average.
  • Valpo has six birdies in the tournament so far with Fay owning half of them.
