"Patti Boice brought VU to national golf prominence when she captured the Women's National Collegiate Golf Tournament Championship in 1964.
She accomplished this feat as a senior, defeating Joyce Kazmierski of Michigan State in the 36-hole final at Michigan State. Boice also was listed as the 7th-ranked woman golfer in the U.S. by Golf Digest magazine in 1964. She has been inducted into the Michigan Amateur Sports Hall of Fame and the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame. Boice also qualified and played in 10 U.S.A. amateur championships.
