"Dr. Robert Stoltz served as a team physician at VU for many years. As VU's medical doctor and Director of the Student Health Center at VU from 1955-85, Dr. Stoltz was one of the most well-known people on campus.

He worked closely with VU's Athletic Training Department, treating injuries and illnesses for all Crusader athletes. A 1949 graduate of VU, he earned letters in football and boxing. Following his undergraduate days, he earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1953.

He entered into a private medical practice at Porter Memorial Hospital from 1955-92. In addition to serving as VU's team physician, Dr. Stoltz was the Valparaiso High School football team physician for 39 consecutive years. Dr. Stoltz became an honorary lifetime member of the National Athletic Trainers Association in 1990.

He was inducted into the Valparaiso High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 1996. Dr. Stoltz will be inducted posthumously into the VU Athletic Hall of Fame.
