"In the era before the shot clock and 3-point line, Ove was one of the most prolific scorers at Valpo.

A 6'5" center, Ove (at the time) broke the school's single-season scoring record with 469 points (21.3 ppg.) in 1950-51. That season, he was named to the Helm's Foundation All-American Team. In 1950-51, Ove had games where he scored 40, 31, 30, 29, 26 and 25 points. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ove was also the MVP of the Indiana Collegiate Conference in its first season in 1951.

A 1951 Valpo graduate with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, Ove was the owner of Universal Products from 1951 until his retirement in 1990. He currently resides in Downers Grove, Illinois.
