"A very talented and versatile player, Gerry Raasch was a key force during an era that produced three conference championships and an undefeated season.

As a senior in 1954, Raasch earned Little All-American and First Team All-Indiana Collegiate Conference honors as a split end. During his first three seasons at Valpo, Raasch starred as an offensive tackle, earning First Team All-ICC status in 1953. As a freshman in 1951, he earned a letter on Valpo's last undefeated team (9-0). While Raasch was a Crusader, Valpo football teams compiled a 25-7-3 record (.757 winning percentage) and captured ICC Championships in 1951, 1952 and 1954.

Upon graduation from Valpo in 1955 (B.A.), Raasch signed a contract with the Washington Redskins. After serving in the Navy from 1956-58, the native of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin worked for A.C. Electronics from 1955-67 and for Carriage Realty Inc. from 1968-90. Raasch has been a broker for Coldwell Banker Heritage Realtors since 1990 in Waynesville, Ohio.
