Valpo's Football Golf Outing Cancelled
The Valparaiso University football Alumni and Friends Golf Outing scheduled for July 25 at the Course at Aberdeen has been cancelled due to limited interest this year.

Mercer University, Stetson University to Join Pioneer Football League in 2013
Pioneer Football League Commissioner Patty Viverito announced that Mercer University and Stetson University have accepted the league's invitations for membership. Both institutions will begin play with the 2013 season, bringing the league's membership to 12 teams at that time.

Valpo Football Announces 2011 Team Captains
Valparaiso University head football coach Dale Carlson has announced that Grant Bushong (Ionia, Mich./Ionia H.S.), Laurence Treadaway (Detroit, Mich./Orchard Lake Saint Mary's H.S.), and Ferdinand Velez (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick H.S.) have been named the Crusaders' team captains for the 2011 season.

Brown Defeats Gold 63-53 in Annual Spring Game

Campbell Defeats Valpo 56-14 on Saturday
Kevin Becker (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson H.S.) hauled in 11 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown on Saturday afternoon for Valparaiso, but the Crusaders could not overcome 35 second quarter points by Campbell as the Camels earned a 56-14 victory over the Brown and Gold at Barker-Lane Stadium in Buies Creek, N.C.

A new era in Valparaiso University football kicks off in 2010 as Dale Carlson takes over the helm of the program. Carlson inherits 39 returning letterwinners from last year's squad, along with six starters on each side of the football. In addition, 37 freshmen have joined the program for the upcoming season, giving Valpo a roster of just over 100 as the Brown and Gold prepare for opening night.
