Cliff Brown

Assistant Coach

Cliff Brown joined the Crusader baseball coaching staff prior to the start of the 2006 campaign.  He arrived at Valpo with ten years of previous collegiate coaching experience under his belt.

Brown began his coaching career in the Mid-Continent Conference at Northeastern Illinois helping guide a team that won the league title and advanced to the NCAA Division I regionals.

He then moved to California State University, Los Angeles where he served as an assistant coach for eight seasons.  During his tenure with the Golden Eagles, the squad won two California Collegiate Athletic Association Conference titles and advanced to regional play in 1998.  While coaching at Cal State Los Angeles, 43 players earned all-conference honors and 17 players signed professional baseball contracts.

In 2000, Brown was the head coach for the Minot Greenheads of the Northwoods Collegiate Summer League.  During the summer of 1997, Brown served and interned with the Chicago White Sox rookie league affiliate in Sarasota, Fla. assisting with the team’s strength and conditioning program.

Brown is a 1997 graduate of Northeastern Illinois and is currently completing his Masters of Education degree with a specialization in sports management at Nova Southeastern.  He is married to his wife Kelly.
