15 Crusaders Earn Spring Academic All-League Honors

15 Valparaiso student-athletes earned spots on the Horizon League Spring Academic All-League teams, as announced by the league office this morning. Men’s outdoor track and field had five athletes honored, while baseball, men’s golf and women’s outdoor track and field each had three selections to go with one from men’s tennis.

Pair of Crusaders Earn All-Tournament Honors as Valpo Men Finish Fourth

Sophomores Nick Seitz (Xenia, Ohio/Carroll) and Peter Webb (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) both claimed All-Tournament accolades as the Horizon League Championship came to a close Sunday. Seitz and Webb led the way for the Valparaiso University men’s golf team en route to a fourth-place finish.

Seitz, Webb Lead Crusaders on Saturday at HL Championship

Led by sophomore Nick Seitz, who sits in third place individually after 36 holes, the Valparaiso University men’s golf team maintained its hold on fourth place at the Horizon League Championship Saturday and is in a position to move up the team leaderboard during the final round on Sunday. Sophomore Peter Webb is tied for ninth after two rounds as well.

Crusader Men Fourth After Day One at HL Championship

The Valparaiso University men’s golf team sits in fourth place after the opening day of the Horizon League Championship from Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. on Friday, just one shot out of third position and within striking distance of the top teams. Sophomore Nick Seitz paced Valpo on Friday with an opening-round 74.

Gring Named Horizon League Coach of the Year; Seitz, Webb Earn All-League Honors

For the second time in three years, Valparaiso University men’s golf head coach David Gring was named Horizon League Coach of the Year in a vote of his peers, as the league held its annual awards banquet preceding the league tournament Thursday evening. In addition, the Crusaders placed a pair of golfers on the All-League squad, as sophomores Nick Seitz and Peter Webb earned All-League accolades.
