VanArragon’s honors came after his top-5 individual showing helped Valpo finish fourth on the team leaderboard in the MVC Championship, hosted by Loyola at the par-72, 7070-yard Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill.


VanArragon Second Through 36 Holes at MVC Championship

Valparaiso University men’s golf sophomore Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine) enters the final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in second of 45 players on a competitive individual leaderboard. VanArragon led the way for Valpo, which sits in sixth place but is only five strokes behind second in a tightly-packed field at the par-72, 7070-yard Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill. The teams battled windy conditions throughout the day on Monday.

A strong week for the Valparaiso University men’s golf team wrapped up on Tuesday as Valpo completed the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo. with a third-place finish in an 18-team field. Valpo led six Missouri Valley Conference programs in the tournament, thanks in part to the play of sophomore Caleb VanArragon (Blaine, Minn. / Blaine), who was the individual runner-up in a 108-player field.


Men’s Golf Well Positioned After Strong First Day in Springfield

The Valparaiso University men’s golf team is in position to compete for the team title at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate entering Tuesday’s final round after a strong opening day of competition on Monday at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo. Valpo enters the final day in third of 18 on a tight team leaderboard with a team score of 574 (+6), just three strokes off the team lead.


Seward Paces Valpo at Bash at the Beach

Senior Brett Seward (Aurora, Ill. / Aurora Christian) led the Valparaiso University men’s golf team at this week’s Bash at the Beach, hosted at Surf Golf & Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. The team finished out the second round and golfed the third round on Tuesday, with Seward carding an even par in both rounds. The team battled rainy weather and windy conditions early in Tuesday’s round.


Men’s Golf Tees Off Bash at the Beach on Monday

Freshman Mason Bonn (Sherwood, Ore. / Sherwood) led the way for the Valparaiso University men’s golf team in Round 1 of the Bash at the Beach, hosted at Surf Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Monday. Play was halted due to darkness late in Round 2, so Tuesday will feature the completion of the second round prior to the final 18 holes of the event.


Willis Notches Top-10 Finish as Valpo Rounds Out Season-Opening Event

Junior Garrett Willis (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead) led the way for the Valparaiso University men’s golf team with a top-10 finish on the individual leaderboard thanks to a strong conclusion to the season-opening Invitation at Savannah Harbor on Sunday in Savannah, Ga. Valpo placed in the middle of the pack in a competitive field, coming in eighth of 16. The Brown & Gold played 23 holes on Sunday, completing the previously-suspended second round before golfing the third and final round of the event while battling challenging conditions.


Men’s Golf Tees Off Spring Slate in Savannah

The Valparaiso University men’s golf team opened up its first event of the spring semester at a location that brings back fond memories, The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga. The defending Invitation at Savannah Harbor champions were led by Mason Bonn (Sherwood, Ore. / Sherwood) in the opening round of this year’s event on Saturday.
