Schreiner Cracks Program Record Book for Season Scoring Average as Women’s Golf Closes Campaign
The Valparaiso University women’s golf team closed out the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Monday with the final round of the tournament, which was hosted by UNI at the par-72, 6188-yard Annbriar GC in Waterloo, Ill. Katie Schreiner (Fenton, Mo. / Summit) polished off a solid season by pacing the team on Monday.

Women’s Golf Opens MVC Championship
The Valparaiso University women’s golf team competed in the first two rounds of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Sunday, hosted by UNI at the par-72, 6188-yard Annbriar GC in Waterloo, Ill. The Beacons were led by Katie Schreiner (Fenton, Mo. / Summit) on the first day of action. The teams were originally scheduled to play 18 holes each day through Tuesday, but due to the weather forecast that plan was tweaked to create a 36-hole day on Sunday.

Roslyn Leitner (Dundee, Ill. / Harry Jacobs) led the team for the 36-hole event.

Balanced Effort Leads Beacons to Improvement on Final Day in Lone Star State
The Valparaiso University women’s golf team had its best 18 holes of the week on Tuesday in the third and final round of the Islander Classic, which was hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi at the par-72, 6112-yard Corpus Christi Country Club in Corpus Christi, Texas. Sophomore Taylor Skibinski (Michigan City, Ind. / Michigan City) turned in a sub-80 round on a day where all five Beacons carded 83 or better.

Anna Fay (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills) and Taylor Skibinski (Michigan City, Ind. / Michigan City) tied for the team’s top spot on the first day of competition.

Freshman Bella Campos (Honolulu, Hawaii / IMG Academy) led the team in Tuesday’s round.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team shattered a program record for 54-hole tournament overall score this week, finishing with a team total of 928 at the 16-team, 100-player Butler Fall Invitational, hosted by the Bulldogs at the par-70, 6040-yard Highland Country Club in Indianapolis. The team edged the previous program watermark by three strokes.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team was led by Madison Keil (LaGrange, Ind. / Lakeland) on Tuesday in the third and final round of The Brittany Kelly Classic, a 13-team, 81-player competition hosted by Ball State at the par-72, 6226-yard Players Club in Yorktown, Ind. Keil and Anna Fay (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills) both cracked the program record book with their performances this week, while the team put together one of its all-time best 54-hole tournament scores.
