The Valparaiso University baseball program will hold a Fall Elite Camp on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Emory G. Bauer Field for high school age players.

Sunday turned out to be a long day of baseball at Emory G. Bauer Field but in the end Valparaiso finished up three victories over Chicago State to complete a four-game weekend sweep of the Cougars and remain in the hunt for a berth in the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament as head coach Paul Twenge won his 500th game as a collegiate coach. Valpo won the completion of the suspended game 7-0, downed the Cougars 4-3 in 14 innings in game one of today's doubleheader and won the nightcap 4-0.

After waiting out a rain delay for more than three-and-a-half hours, Valparaiso needed ten innings to defeat Chicago State in a pitchers' dual 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Emory G. Bauer Field. Game two was suspended with Valpo leading 2-0 after three innings and will be completed prior to the regularly scheduled doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.

On what turned out to be a long day of baseball for the Crusaders, Valparaiso defeated Centenary 10-6 in the final game of the four-game weekend series as the Gents ended up taking the series overall. Centenary won 6-5 in eight innings in the completion of yesterday's suspended game and came-from-behind to defeat the Brown and Gold 4-3 in game one of the regularly scheduled doubleheader.
