Valparaiso University head women’s basketball coach Keith Freeman has announced a schedule change for the 2009-10 season, with the addition of a game at Cincinnati on December 21 which replaces a home contest with UAB that had been slated for December 19.

The UAB has been removed from the schedule due to a schedule conflict by the Blazers.  The Crusaders will now play a 6 p.m. CST contest at Cincinnati, the third straight Big East team on the schedule, in addition to Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.  All three teams will return to the ARC for games in 2010-2011.

“Adding a third Big East team to our schedule gives us a five-game stretch in December where we are playing power conferences,” Freeman said.  “In addition to the games this year, it gives us three Big East teams which will visit the ARC next year for our home games.”

Following the trips to Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, and Cincinnati, Valpo will take part in the San Diego Surf ‘n Slam facing Auburn from the Southeastern Conference and either Wake Forest from the Atlantic Coast Conference or San Diego State from the Western Athletic Conference.
